My piece is faceless. It is not a portrait, but a background. During the age of Radicals,inspiration for architecture was found in ancient Greece and Rome. Aristocrats traveled to Italy for the Grand Tour. Byron died in Greece where he had arrived in order to join the Greek Revolution against the Ottoman Empire. Like a contemporary Capriccio of Ruins, this imaginary urban landscape plays the role of stage for the Radicals.
